Cake Topper

I spent today doing some DIY stuff... I printed our return address on all of our Save the Date envelopes, and I printed out the address to most of our recipients.  I also spray painted and put all the crystals on our cake topper! It took awhile but I love how it turned out.

E-Pics

We took our Engagement Pictures today with Roger at the Waterfront Park in Weehawken.  It was SOOO cold and windy - but we survived!! I'm really excited to get the pictures.  He'll be sending us a cd of the high res pictures by the end of the week. Then we just need to make our selections for prints.  We had a great experience with him.  I'll post pictures as soon as I get them :)

DIY Projects

So my semester ends around December 15th and I don't start student teaching until January 12th. This means a couple of weeks of DIY wedding projects to get done.  There are a couple of things that are definitely on my list:

1. Monogrammed Aisle Runner - MAYBE with a poem or quote on it, also.
2. Monogram Cake Topper
3. Design invitations and perhaps order/create pocketfolds

Check Check!

So we decided to work with the less expensive florist who is going to be giving us a great deal for the same things! So we're going to be sending her a deposit, as well as the Rabbi that we will be using. Ahhh everything is falling into place. Once my Save the Date postcards come in this week, I'll be putting them together and sending them out ASAP. Then, once the semester is over, I'll be doing a bunch of DIY stuff during the break.  One will be our monogrammed aisle runner. I'm also thinking of putting a poem on it, like I've seen here.

Florist dilemma

So, after meeting with the more expensive florist.  I contacted the less expensive florist to see how much of a price difference it would be to do comparable work to the more expensive one.  It is still $1,000 less! Soooo we're most likely going to be booking with the less expensive one.

I've been somewhat stressed getting my FI to do things for the wedding.  I've been asking him to do things repeatedly (Ex: Asking his parents for the addresses of their guests) and he never does it! He's really pissing me off with this.

Checks!

So we have a couple of checks! Today we made our deposit for our photographer. Now we just need to figure out our date for our engagement shoot and we'll get that out of the way. So exciting :)

We also met with a florist today... loved her work but it was a little too expensive for us which is unfortunate.  We may need to go with another florist we have met with due to the prices.

I also checked out a hotel today for a block for out of town guests.  It wasn't too bad but we may need to find one that will include a shuttle for us. 

Procrastinating

The meeting with the travel agent went very well.  We're most definitely going to go to Disney on our honeymoon.  We just need to figure out our funds as we will be paying for it ourselves.  Friday will be a big day of wedding planning. We will be checking out a local hotel for hotel block information before we send out our Save the Dates.  Then we're meeting with a florist, followed by meeting with our photographer to give our deposit!  I will be so happy when we book all of these big vendors and we don't need to worry about them.

So here we go

This is my first post, so I don't really know where to start. I'm getting married on July 19, 2009. I still have a LOT of planning to do.  I'm meeting with a travel agent today to discuss our honeymoon.  Unfortunately my FI won't be able to make it, but we'll see how the meeting goes.  We're thinking of going to Disney World for the honeymoon 'cause we're totally not into just relaxing for 7 days.
